This project was for my BA photography degree in TUDublin, which was during coivd outbreak with severe limitations on travel (2017-2021). A Black Notice is issued by Interpol and An Garda Síochána when looking for information about unidentified deceased persons. In many cases the person may have been using a false identity. For more than ten years the Garda and Interpol have been trying to identify the body of Peter Bergmann. Nobody has ever come forward to identify him and he lies buried in an unmarked grave in Sligo. This unsolved mystery was the starting point to explore conceptual documentary photography at the intersection between fact and fiction, the raison d'être of photography itself.
