Faith in death of self
Michael Croghan
This work is a piece from my long term work on commonalities of place, where I live in County Longford, in the midlands of Ireland. The title suggests its identity, and the idea of self is representative of my faith and transformation of self to this belief.

Glitch
Michael Croghan
Life itself is understood as a cultural thing. When you peel back the layers of understanding, nothingness reveals itself. Place is strange, when seen objectively, things are temporary. People in the next generation will see things gradually change from how we see things now. Breaking the idea of a linearity or a status quo of a secular society. All physical forms are part of a temporary cycle, there are sometimes glitches that have an awakening sensibility to that liminal idea of objects. Life is a stage of real theatrical merit, it reminds us of this illusionary space, it is not an eternal right, it is a passing theatre, the consequences are of the spirit and not of this place. The only continuum is time.
